Bernardsville has a variety of shops, restaurants as well as its own cinema and YMCA and there are 6 outstanding private golf clubs within 5 miles. The New Jersey Transit has 2 express trains in and out of New York Penn Station each day, and the express trip takes 50 minutes. There are several large employers including Verizon, Avaya, Lucent and Chubb, as well as numerous middle market and smaller companies located within 5 to 25 minutes driving time. The median income is $104,000 according to the 2000 census.
